WHY SHOULD I PERFORM THE TEST?
In good healthy people some hormones monitor the values of glucose which should be within 70 and 110 mg/dl on an empty stomach. The pancreas produces the adequate substances to maintain the right level of glucose: if the values are altered, it could be related to metabolic disturbances such as diabetes. An elevated level of glucose in the blood could lead to kidney injures, blindness, or arteriosclerosis.
Checking the level of glucose in blood is a very good tool for verifying our own health status and eventually taking the required preventive actions.
HOW DOES IT WORK ?
The Test uses an enzymatic method and gives a quantitative result of the level of glucose in blood.
1) The sample is a blood drop taken with the painless sterile lancet contained in the box.
2) Obtain a big drop of blood by squeezing the finger.
3) Put the drop of blood on the indicated point on the disc.
4) Wait for a minute and read the result on the corresponding colored position.
CONTENT: 1 sealed aluminum pouch containing: 1 test-disc and a desiccant, 1 painless sterile lancet for blood sampling, instructions for use.
